This is a unique opportunity to work closely with both Kia & Scott whose combined teachings include extensive experience of Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style, profound knowledge of breath, pranic energy, subtle and physical anatomy, mindfulness and hands-on adjustments.

They offer an including, warm and inspiring space open for personal exploration and inquiry. Kia & Scott are excited to bring their beautiful Mysore communities together to share the universal language of yoga at Purple Valley!

This retreat is open for all levels of practitioners – from beginners to advanced.

Daily Planning

  • We open our mornings with Silent sitting & Mindfulness with Scott. Cultivating deep awareness at the beginning of the day allows us to develop skills that help us to drop into the experience of our lives. Kia will also introduce everyone to the essential practices of classical Kriyas (yogic purification techniques) as per Hatha Pradipika. and Gerhanda Samhita.
  • Followed by Ashtanga Yoga Mysore Style classes, where you receive individual guidance and adjustments from Scott, Kia and their highly experienced assisting team. Those new to the practice will be introduced to Mysore Style Self Practice, whilst experienced practitioners will develop their personal practice. Some led classes focused on specific aspects of the practice will also be offered as well as Traditionally Sanskrit Counted practice.
  • Afternoons will be dedicated to exploring mindful principles of Ashtanga Yoga including hands on adjustments with Scott and the Philosophy and Practice of Traditional Pranayamas and Kriyas with Kia.

In Scott´s  afternoon sessions, we will be looking at how practice becomes deeper when we cultivate true awareness. These classes will include techniques, hands on adjustments and cultivating mindful qualities of practice.

The Philosophy and Practice of Pranayama takes us beyond the physical aspects of yoga to the next level of awareness. In these sessions Kia will allow us to deepen our appreciation  of the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy. New students will build up a self-practice of Pranayama  & Kriyas to continue after the course, whilst those with more experience will refine and deepen their practice and understanding.  Kia may also offer pulse-reading and personalised practices to those established in Pranayama in the lineage of Kaivalyadham.
