Maria Boox had studied and practiced yoga for almost
30 years. She meet Sri K Pattabhi Jois in 1996 and found her
true path of Yoga. She obtained authorization
Level 2, which allows her to teach Ashtanga yoga
intermediate series.

She has studied under Guruji, Sri K Pattabhi Jois, as well as his
daughter Sarasvati, and grandson Sharat. Maria has also been
certified by B.K.S. Iyengar. At present Maria studies Pranayama
with Shri O.P. Tiwariji, who teaches in the tradition of
Kaivalyadhama. She is the founder of Yoga Shala Stockholm in
Sweden. Maria teaches with deep knowledge, warmth and joy, her
adjustments are accordingly to the students need. The classes
are held in a traditional Ashtanga way according to Pattabhi
Jois - Guruji. The accepting of “what is”, bringing joy, as well
as lightness into the practice shines through her workshops and

As a teacher Maria wants all students to feel they are seen, and
safe in the practice room. To practice towards deep awareness
with love and care for yourself and hopefully integrate that into
daily life. Maria’s deep knowledge of the yoga sutras shines
through in her teachings as well as in the morning practice and
in the afternoon classes.

During the afternoon classes we will discuss the yoga
sutras and relate to them in our practice and life. We will
go deeper with in meditation, pranayama and mantras.
We will work with techniques that will help each student
to understand the essence of the yoga practice. Such as the
breath, bandhas and focus. We will as well look into the
techniques of forward bends, twists, back bending and so
much more.

Morning Program: 6.30-8.30 Mysore class 8.30-9.30 Beginners class

Evening Program ; Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 4.00-6.00pm , Yoga in daily life: An introduction to Yoga Philosophy: Talks about Patanjali Yoga Sutras within daily life. Pranayama , Meditation. Techniques that will help each student to understand different parts of the practice such as Bandhas, Lifts, Forward bends, Twist, Backbending and so much more.....
